Custom Michigan Lake Wedding
When creativity meets sentiment, the result is a suite that tells a story, and this lake‑inspired design really does. For this custom project, we set out to capture the serene charm of a lakeside wedding, weaving in soft blues, natural textures, and fluid shapes that reflect the water’s gentle ripples. But the most special detail? The envelope liner features a hand-painted illustration of the bride’s family lake house, where the couple’s wedding took place.
Design Inspiration
Custom Painting as Liner
The envelope liner is a true keepsake: a watercolor-style painting of the bride’s family home on the lake. It was a touching surprise for guests and a deeply personal way to tie the invitation to the venue.Colors & Textures
We started with a soft, watery palette—think blues and greens—to mimic those lake reflections and the hydrangea wedding flowers. We then mixed geometric patterns with organic lines, motifs, and greenery to add movement and create a unique, bold, and elegant garden party feel.Paper & Finish
Premium eggshell matte stock cards gave a tactile, substantial feel, while envelope liners echo the suite colors, tying everything together.
This suite includes:
Main Invitation: An antique die-cut 5×7 card with a soft blue line pattern, with elegant cursive and serif typography.
Details Card: An oval die-cut 4.25x5.5 card offers attire, timeline, and reception info—designed cohesively for ease.
RSVP Card: A square 3.5x3.5 card that is both coordinated and compact, designed to utilize their pre-existing wedding website RSVP capabilities and keep postage/paper costs low and sustainable.
Envelope & Liner: A watercolor venue liner paired with a pale blue envelope creates a joyful moment upon opening.
